Microsoft, Facebook meet hyperscale computing demand with data center footprints: Current v planned infrastructure maps

Completed, new, and expanding data centers worldwide are shown below for Microsoft and Facebook as companies like Microsoft, Alibaba, Facebook, Amazon, Baidu, Apple, IBM, Google, Tencent and others hyperscale computing and benefit from data storage from distributed data centers and more effective computing environments able efficiently scale servers from a few, to thousands, to address global hyperscale data center growth, according to Morgan Stanley Research in a 2019 report.

By clicking the map below to enlarge, you can see Facebook has 15 data center regions worldwide with 11 in the United States, three in the European Union, and one in Asia at the time of publishing. You can also see the areas for planned expansions.


Facebook also has six data center expansions planned with four in the US and two in the EU.

Facebook is also planning eight new data centers with six in the US, one in the EU, and 1 scheduled for Asia.
