This event is for electronics OEM professionals working in OEM companies. Even if you cannot attend this event sign up anyway and we'll send you the slide deck.
This narrow scope, in-depth webinar focuses on suggestions OEM customers of EMS partners can do to better insure engineering changes to product bill of material (BOM) are carried through across EMS functional groups.
Electronics industry engineering change orders (ECO), also called engineering change notice (ECN) or engineering changes (EC) are changes in electronics components, parts assemblies and related materials or manufacturing process instructions (MPI) that update product program supply chains typically managed by EMS partners. But all parties (OEM and EMS) involved need to make sure EMS partner raw materials, production WIP, FGI and OEM field product are up-revved to recent specs. (Read how manufacturers can drive costs out from current product portfolios)
ECOs are driven by a variety of reasons like replacement of a lesser quality component with higher quality, a lower priced component, end-of-life components, design changes suggested by EMS partners for more efficient manufacturing (DfM), changes to up rev existing product to save OEMs from investing in substantial NPI costs, to name a few.
Correct implementation of product ECOs in a timely manner, can have enormous impact on overall near-term OEM program costs and overall OEM savings. OEM attendees of this event will learn EMS best practices (v. common in industry) for EMS providers to properly execute ECOs and what OEMs should keep an eye on such as:
- ECO documentation and deviations (EMS-OEM)
- ECO proactive risk avoidance (EMS)
- ECO execution and tracking v. logging (EMS)
- OEM manufacturing compliance audit & liability
- ...and more
OEM target audience: Electronic OEM individuals, managers and executives working in OEM hardware companies responsible for proposals, quotes, costing and cost management, vendor and supplier management, purchasing, planning, strategic sourcing, materials and supply chain management, manufacturing operations, finance, corporate strategy and related.
