Mark Zetter, founder and management consultant, Venture Outsource LLC

In the early 2000s, Venture Outsource LLC founder and management consultant Mark Zetter began performing value assessment and ranking of contract electronics companies for institutional investors; hedge funds and VC firms, and limited partnerships with interest in contract electronics industry and provider mergers and acquisitions. These projects often included analysis of contract electronics industry and vertical markets; benchmarking and competitive analysis, and memorandums of confidentially documents (formulation and review) for use by investors and buyers and sellers of contract electronics organizations to better assist in assessing provider value. The disclosure vs discovery nature of these projects (comparing capabilities claimed by EMS providers vs actual capabilities) became the cornerstone of services Mark began offering to clients of Venture Outsource LLC.

Prior to this, Mark was hired by a contract manufacturer eventually acquired by private equity and serving non-traditional electronics markets where Mark strengthened organizational and operational stability with top-down and bottom-up planning, implemented monthly and quarterly objectives using metric-based management to measure against aggressive goal setting while developing a new business plan with advisory to support the growth plan.

Mark began his journey in contract electronics industry employed for several years by a tier-4 contract electronics provider (US$400 million in revenue) which grew to US$7 billion during a period of hyper-growth while this provider was fast-acquiring other industry providers and eventually growing to became the largest, tier-1 contract electronics provider in the world during Mark’s tenure as a member of middle management while analyzing, creating, implementing processes and procedures designed to hold functional departments accountable supporting customer manufacturing programs so that customer product production quality and shipping schedules could be met, and exceed, customer expectations.
