Ways to Optimize Your VO Profile

OEM Community is a collaborative endeavor and we want you to have a positive experience. To help you toward this objective below are ways you can optimize your VO Profile.

Registered OEM users with a completed VO Profile can send unlimited private messages to any member.

The following will help you optimize your VO Profile to increase opportunities for getting the most benefit from your VO Community.

    • Users ‘read’ your VO Profile before they open your private message. If your VO Profile sections are blank (or super short) you are 6 times more likely to get messages you send ‘deleted’ by the recipient.
    • If your VO Profile sections for ‘About me‘ or ‘My thoughts on…‘ are blank, it doesn’t matter how good or how important your message is you are sending to a user.

VO Profile avatar image
A personal image in your profile helps generate more private messages from other users.

Your avatar can be JPEG or GIF format. Company logos, promotional or offensive images are not permitted. Your image auto re-sizes to 85×85 pixels. For help creating / uploading your avatar email: insight[at]ventureoutsource[dot]com

Your Basic info section has space for you to input a more specific location. This is just another one of the common denominators we use to try to bring community members closer together. Whether it be based on cultural interests and exposure; geography or time zones, or familiarity with a certain region of the globe. Revealing your location to other users can also aid in helping them better understand your comments or postings – from your perspective.

email
We encourage all users to user their corporate email address. Your email is never revealed to other users but, in doing so a Corporate Verified Member green star displays beside your name indicating a user’s identity and employer or company have both been verified and helps you gain some immediate momentum toward establishing relations with other members. Other members are more likely to interact with a Corporate Verified Member, knowing you are who you say you are and/or you work for the organization you claim to be associated with.

Tell users about who you are, your interests, accomplishment or objectives. Information in this section is about ‘you’ not your company. Use this section as an opportunity to provide information for colleagues and, possibly new employers. You should view your VO Profile as one of your gateways to your business and career success. We do encourage all community members to post article comments, and private message other members of OEM Community. You can also choose to remain private and not post anything.

Your various statements in My thoughts on… cover a wide range of interests and topics. Completing these statements increases your chances of receiving messages from other users by a factor of 3x. You can edit or delete any of your statements at any time. Statements you post will display for site users to see. Statement you delete, or leave blank, do not display.

Links located top of every page

There are other aspects to your VO Profile and community benefits you can manage from the backend of your profile page when you log in. Some of these features you can access from the gray links located top of all site pages when you are logged in.

Tell others

To let others know you are part of a OEM peer-powered network exclusively for electronics OEM professionals, we created a VO Profile badge for displaying on your Website or other Web pages that links back to your VO Profile.

When you are logged in you can access and copy your VO Profile badge code, to embed and display on your Website, by selecting the ‘VO Profile Badge’ tab from your VO Profile page.
