As we’ve written previously, OEM readers engaging EMS partners for their OEM NPI programs can expect capable contract manufacturers to carefully lead the OEM through an established and itemized list of NPI product requirements and process flow.
To help OEMs better anticipate and understand this process we offer this detailed outline available for access below.
Critical steps to bring your hardware program to market are detailed in our process flow used by a vast majority of EMS providers today. (Click for a list of providers in our company directory offering new product introduction (NPI) services – prototyping, tool and mold design, process technology development, assembly documentation…)
Most standard NPI business product launch models contain four turn time variations. These include the standard five-day turn, a three-day turn, a 48-hour turn, and the increasingly-popular 24-hour turn. OEM product lot size requirements, in addition to other product business or service requirements, can each impact which turn schedule fits best.
